330 collegiate anglers from across the nation are set to compete for the national championship title on May 27 & 28 at Lake Lewisville, Texas. These talented anglers have competed over the past year to earn the right to represent their schools at this prestigious event.

ATHENS – Officials at the Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center in Athens have announced the winners in the Texas division of the 2010 Wildlife Forever State-Fish Art Contest.
First, second and third-place winners and honorable mentions are awarded in three grade-level divisions: grades 4-6, 7-9, and 10-12.

AUSTIN — Gary E. Saul, PhD, has been named director of the Inland Fisheries Division of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. Saul assumes his new position May 10.
“Gary has done a great job as deputy division director and more recently as acting director. He has demonstrated that he has the knowledge, experience, skills and vision to lead Inland Fisheries into the next decade,” said Ross Melinchuk, TPWD Deputy Executive Director for Natural Resources. “Gary has earned great respect over the years from his professional colleagues within and outside the agency, from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission and from Texas anglers for the work he’s done to assure that Texas will always be a great place to go fishing.”
